This privacy statement applies to the website www.consencus.eu of project ConsenCUS (hereinafter ” ConsenCUS ” or “We”). In this statement, we explain our general privacy policy, the purposes for which we process your personal data, and the rights you have regarding your personal data.

Who is the data controller?

Project partner New Energy Coalition is responsible for processing your personal data. We are located at Nijenborgh 6, 9747 AG Groningen. Our Chamber of Commerce number is 69200556.

What is our general privacy policy?

We values your privacy. This means we only process your data in accordance with privacy legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We use your data solely to communicate with you or to provide our services. We base our processing of personal data on the principles described in Article 6 of the GDPR (Lawfulness of Processing).

We do not sell, trade, or share your information with third parties without your permission unless we are legally obligated to do so.

What are personal data?

When you visit our website, we may collect various personal data. Personal data is any information that can be traced back to a natural person.

What data do we process from you?

We only collect data that you provide to us or that we receive via cookies.

You are not legally obligated to provide your personal data. However, if you wish to use our website, services, or contact us, we do need the requested information. We do not collect more data than necessary for these purposes.

When you contact us, for example, by registering for our services or contacting us through our contact form, we store the information you provide. We use this information solely to communicate with you about our services, answer your questions, or prepare for a potential agreement.

Depending on your contact with us, we process the following data, for example:

  • First and last name and contact details (such as email address and telephone number);
  • Organisation name and job title;
  • Content of communications (for example via the contact form);
  • Technical data via cookies (such as IP address, browser type, session duration and click behaviour).

Do we also process special personal data?

We do not process special personal data, such as data relating to political opinions, religious beliefs or health.

How long do we keep your data?

Your data will not be retained longer than necessary for the purpose for which you provided it. We apply the following retention periods, among others:

  • Event registrations: to the end date of the project.
  • Contact requests: after completion of the contact, unless explicit permission has been given to store data;
  • Newsletters: until you unsubscribe;

Do we share your data?

We only share your data with parties that are part of our services, and this is necessary to communicate with you or if we are legally obliged to share data.

We offer adequate safeguards for parties that store data outside the EU. We only enter into agreements with these parties if the European Commission has decided that data transfer is secure (adequacy decision) or if similar measures have been taken to ensure that your data is also processed securely.

How secure is your data?

We considers the security of your data to be important. Therefore, we implement appropriate security measures to ensure that your data is not lost or accessed by unauthorized third parties. Some of these measures are listed below:

  • Our website is secured with an SSL certificate so that personal data is sent encrypted;
  • We have a strict need-to-know policy. Only authorized personnel/third parties have access to your personal data.
  • We enter into agreements with third parties who process your personal data on our behalf.

What rights do you have?

You have several rights regarding your privacy:

  • Right to rectification;
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten);

You can submit your request or objection via our contact form on our contact page. Please include “Personal Data” in the subject line.

To properly process your request or objection, we kindly ask you to include a copy of your ID. Please black out your passport photo, MRZ (the strip with numbers on your ID), document number, and Citizen Service Number (BSN) in this copy. We will respond to your message as soon as possible.

If you have any complaints about how we manage your privacy, please let us know via our contact form. We strive to resolve complaints amicably. You are also free to file a complaint with the supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority. You can do so via www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
