The event took place on the 18th of January 2023 in “Noesis” a technological museum in the city of Thessaloniki. In total 51 students and 4 teachers participated in this educational fieldtrip. Fifteen students participated in a role-playing game, while the rest got a tour of the technological museum and visited different exhibitions.
“The primary objective of this event was for a group of students from the ‘Poligiros’ High school to get exposed to the societal dimensions of renewable energy. The students participated in a role-playing game hosted by the educational team in “Noesis”. The issue of debate was the development of a wind farm in a small rural community. Students received information specific to their roles and were then asked to take a position based on the available information. Thoughtful conversation developed among the students and the facilitator, and a range of ideas were exchanged. While this role-playing game was originally being based on renewable energy solutions, students had the opportunity to transfer this experience to Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage technologies”.
